Description Output from a multivariate discriminate analysis that quantifies the overall bispectral properties (frequency, power, and phase) throughout the entire frequency range.
Background Bispectral Index is used to monitor depth of anesthesia and is a supplement to Guedel’s Classification System for determining depth of anesthesia. The use of the BIS monitor has shown to reduce occurrence of intraoperative awareness during anaesthesia.
